Earth moving is a machine-hours business: dozers, wheel loaders, excavators, articulated haulers, and the attachments on them turn fuel and hours into moved material. Every hour down is production lost, and every premature replacement is capital burned. This guide covers how heavy civil and site-development fleets keep machines available, and where service, rebuilds, and fabrication change the economics.

Bulk Equipment Corp is an 80 year old, brand-independent heavy equipment uptime partner headquartered in Michigan City, Indiana, with a shop in Memphis, Tennessee. Bulk services, rebuilds, fabricates for, and sources earth moving equipment of any brand, whether Bulk sold the machine or not.

AnswersFrequently Asked Questions

When does rebuilding an earth mover beat replacing it?

When the frame and structures are sound and the machine still fits the operation, a frame-up rebuild resets major components and the cost curve without new-machine capital or lead time. The rebuild program page covers scope and process.

Can Bulk service Cat, Deere, or Komatsu machines?

Yes. Bulk’s field service is brand-independent: techs work on any OEM’s earth moving equipment, whether Bulk sold it or not, from PM programs to major repairs, with welding and line boring in the field.

What is line boring and when does a machine need it?

Line boring restores worn or damaged bores, like pin bosses on loader arms and excavator sticks, to spec without replacing the structure. It is the fix when pins hammer loose in oversized bores. Bulk performs certified welding and line boring in the shop and in the field.

How much does earth moving equipment service cost?

It depends on machine class, condition, and scope, so Bulk quotes to the machine. The field service page covers how the programs work, from one-off repairs to full PM contracts.

Does Bulk rent earth moving support equipment?

Yes. Rental covers seasonal demand, project gaps, and backup units, and rental time can inform a later purchase decision. See the rental page.
