- Use different colored cups to mark alcoholic versus non-alcoholic drinks, and dump unattended drinks to keep minors from consuming them
- Stop serving alcohol several hours before the party ends
- When serving champagne, keep it chilled to at least 45 degrees so the cork is less likely to pop unexpectedly, and hold the bottle at a 45-degree angle away from people when opening
